01 / German registries

Authoritative sources for German entity verification

Handelsregister
Commercial register
German commercial register, federated across regional courts (Amtsgerichte). Company form (GmbH, AG, OHG, KG, KGaA), HRB/HRA number, share capital, Geschäftsführer / Vorstand, signing authority, address.
Transparenzregister
UBO register
German Beneficial Ownership Register. Note: 2022 CJEU ruling restricted public access — Veritor accesses via authorised-intermediary route for AML-obliged customers only, in compliance with German GwG and EU AMLD.
VIES (DE entities)
EU VAT validator
German VAT number validation via EU VIES for cross-border B2B transactions. Required for intra-EU invoicing without reverse-charge errors.
GLEIF (DE entities)
LEI registry
German entities with LEI codes — typically financial-sector firms subject to MiFID II / EMIR / SFDR. Cross-validates Handelsregister identification.
TED Europa (DE contracts)
EU procurement
German contract wins in EU public procurement. Particularly relevant for federal-state suppliers and Bundeswehr framework agreements.
02 / German compliance specifics

Aligned with BaFin and GwG requirements

GwG (Geldwäschegesetz) — German AML Act. Obliged entities must conduct customer due diligence including UBO identification via Transparenzregister. Veritor's documentation aligns with GwG record-keeping requirements (10-year retention available).

BaFin supervised entities — financial-sector firms supervised by BaFin must comply with both GwG and EU AMLD. Veritor's audit reports are suitable for BaFin Sonderprüfung (special inspection).

DORA TPRM — Germany has been an early DORA implementer. Many German banks already require DORA-compliant ICT third-party documentation. See DORA use case.
